NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) — Emergency crews are responding to a report of an accidental shooting at a Canyon County gun range.
The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says the accidental shooting happened at George W. Nourse public shooting range southwest of Nampa.
Canyon County officials say the man has been flown to a Boise hospital via air ambulance. It's believed that a firing malfunction occurred when the shooting took place.
A witness told KBOI 2News the man wasn't at the shooting range long before it happened. The man reportedly sat his gun against the bench and it accidentally went off.
The same witnesses says someone started to perform CPR; the man was still breathing and trying to speak before he was flown to the hospital.
His current condition is unknown.
Law enforcement is still investigating the incident.
